About Us
Our story:
A Village of Flowers was founded by Mikell Wiggs and George Ridley in 1999 in historic Hillsboro Village. The shop has been a part of "the Village" since 1999, and after working in the field for some time, we purchased the shop in 2004. We share a deep love of creation, nature, and flowers and have a passion to spread positivity, comfort, and joy to people. Throughout the years, our AVOF team has been a talented, creative and caring crew, and we are thankful for the opportunity to serve the Nashville area alongside our AVOF family.
Our team's work has been spotlighted in The Tennessean, Nashville Lifestyles, Enchanted Brides, People, Southern Weddings, The Wall Street Journal, Style Me Pretty, Style Blueprint, Green Wedding Shoes and many more. We love working with clients new and old and hope to continue to serve our Nashville community for years to come.

Our Motto:
Flowers are the language of love.
Our Name:
We are located in Hillsboro Village in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. The name A Village of Flowers springs from the love of our village and our community.
Our work:
The making of an AVOF arrangement begins with the story of the seed. We are amazed that a tiny seed can produce such beautiful things. When we make a bouquet, we do not take lightly the amount of work that the growers have put into bringing this bloom to maturity. We are reminded about how special it is that someone with great care planted and nurtured a very delicate creation into its full beauty. When it is possible, we source seasonal flowers from local TN growers – from larger farms to small urban gardens. We are careful in selecting the best flowers, which can only be made great with careful handling and processing. Whether we’re designing for a birthday, anniversary, sympathy or “just because” occasion, our designers create a gift keeping in mind the sentiment that the customer wishes to convey.
Our Commitment:
We strive to create unique, custom designs and fresh, high-end flower arrangements. Our store has a friendly staff that is focused on creating relevant designs and staying up to date on popular trends. We are committed to giving our customers the best quality and the best service.
Customer Care:
The goal of A Village of Flowers has been to create a pleasant, welcoming floral experience for the customer and to provide the finest of flowers displayed in artful, sophisticated designs. This is what has set us apart and continues to make us a Nashville favorite.
Customer Testimonials:
A Village of Flowers is a special place that really cares about our customers. We often receive thank you emails, phone calls, and letters. Here are a few words of thanks from some of our appreciative customers:
"I wish I could send flowers to people in other states from you. You are an exceptional florist!"
"The flowers were beautiful! The vase was stunning. Thank you so much for the love and beauty in the arrangement. It was absolutely perfect for the occasion!"
"I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how pleased I was with this order. It meant a lot to me as they were for my grandgirls who were in a dance recital and I wasn't able to be there. This is the second time I've used your company and only wish you could relocate to the Boston area! Keep up the great work and enjoy your day."
"I just wanted to thank you all so much for delivering on Mother's Day! The arrangement was absolutely beautiful and made my mother so happy. Your care and dedication is so appreciated and is reflected in your work. I believe that I spoke with Melanie; what a delight! Thank you, thank you! I do hope that you all were able to enjoy Mother's Day as well. Peace to all!"
"Loved your arrangement. I always know that I can depend on your creativity. Thanks again!”
"Just a note of thanks - Julie loved the arrangements you made (the one I ordered and the one from her place of work). You all do an amazing job with design, and I was thrilled to have had the selection and the ability to order same day. Thanks so much for your efforts!"

Substitution Policy
Substitutions may be necessary to create your bouquet due to the availability of certain flowers in various parts of the country. Care is taken to maintain the style, theme and color scheme of the arrangement, using flowers of equal value. Additionally, the substitution of certain keepsake items may be necessary due to increased demand, especially during major holidays. In single-flower arrangements, such as an all rose bouquet, or orchids, we will make every attempt to match the flower type, but may substitute with another color.
